Dunlop has announced women’s world number three and reigning US Open champion Nour El Tayeb as its newest Squash Tour team player. The Cairo-born star has signed a multi-year agreement and will use Dunlop rackets, luggage, strings and grips.

Nour is a crowd favourite on the tour, renowned for her acrobatic diving abilities. She burst onto the world squash scene at the age of 17 in 2010 when she became the third youngest Tour title winner by capturing the Creteil International Open. After breaking into the world top 10, she endured an injury-hit 2016 before her first two World Series wins at the US Open in October 2017 and the Windy City Open in February 2018 saw her rise to her career-high number three ranking.

Nour joins her husband Ali Farag, the men’s world number two, as a Dunlop Squash Tour team player. The couple became the only married couple in sporting history to have won major singles titles on the same day following their successes at the US Open last year.

“We’re delighted to be working with a player of Nour’s calibre and strengthening our team of professional players,” said Jamie Douglas, Marketing Director for Dunlop. “Nour entrusting Dunlop with her equipment is testament to the hard work that goes on at Dunlop to develop industry-leading products and the investment that we’re making in racket sports. We’re looking forward to following her journey after a landmark last 12 months where she’s captured her first two World Series titles.”

Nour will use the Dunlop Hyperfibre+ Revelation 125 racket, Dunlop Performance luggage range, Dunlop Silk strings and the Dunlop Hydramax PU grip.

Nour said: “I’m looking forward to joining the Dunlop family, a brand that has been used by legends of the game. To join Dunlop is such an honour and with Ali playing with Dunlop, it’s literally family. Hopefully, it’s going to be the start of amazing things to come for everyone included and I’m excited for the collaboration and working towards great things for the squash world.”
